When using a learning management system (LMS) / corporate open online course (COOC) platform, the LMS module / COOC module is edited before it is released and projected in front of the enterprise trainees.
Before it is released, it should be assessed that business loyalty is ensured towards authors, creators, designers whose works have been incorporated into the LMS/COOC Module.
The enterprise is liable but also within the digital era, copyright fault consequences go beyond legal impacts (reputation,...)
From this perspective, there are two phases, separated by the copyright clearance sign off :
the realisation phase and the projection phase.
When the LMS module / COOC module is outsourced, the copyright clearance may be assured by the sourcing manager.
The Chief Risk Officer may put in place a Copyright Protection Officer to own copyright assurance and clearance policies and processes.
Digital Workspace workshop
When using a digital workspace, the workshop output and report are the results of the trainer and the trainees' cooperation.
The realisation phase and the projection phase are intermeshed [1]
Under a copyright assurance policy, the trainees are duely sensibilized to copyright before the workhop : it will save time and money to the worksshop report owner.
The workshop report is subject to copyright clearance before it is released.
Copyright assurance may be done by the HR manager and copyright clearance by the workshop report owner.
